Logistics
We are so excited to gather at Young Life's Windy Gap (Weaverville, NC) on January 5-10, 2025. Below is important information regarding our time together.
Packing

- Check the forecast for the weather in Weaverville, NC and pack accordingly. Dress is casual.
- We encourage you to bring a Bible, your own devotional material, headphones, laptop, journal and pen.
- Bedding and a towel will be provided.
- Please treat the in-person intensive like a summer assignment, which means abstinence from alcohol and tobacco during our time on camp property.
DRIVERS

ARRIVAL DAY - SUNDAY, JANUARY 5
Get directions to camp property (120 Coles Cv Rd, Weaverville, NC 28787). Plan your route in advance, as some roads may be closed due to Hurricane Helene in September 2024.
Plan on arriving during welcome between 3 - 6 PM. Check in at the dining hall for your housing, drop your belongings off in your cabin, and park your vehicle. Then, hang out, grab dinner, and show up to the initial gathering (specified times will be provided in the schedule).
DEPARTURE DAY - FRIDAY, JANUARY 10
Please be off camp property by 8 AM . If you are departing between 6:30-8 AM, be mindful of the charter busses that may be arriving to camp.
Don't forget to complete your driver mileage in Workday and allocate the expense to Cost Center 2700. Learning and Leadership will reimburse your area for mileage up to $500.
FLYERS

All airfare must be booked through Egencia and meet the flight parameters
Any unapproved travel booked outside of Egencia will not be reimbursed (so, maybe don’t do that). This allows your flight to be charged to our travel card and we can view your flight itinerary automatically to arrange transportation.
The flight booking link will be emailed to registered participants by the end of October. If you do not receive the email by then, please let us know.
Plane tickets are non-transferrable; therefore, airfare cancellations become the property of the area employing the person ticketed. Should anyone need to cancel, the mission unit will be charged for the cost of the flight.

If you have a special diet (vegetarian, vegan, gluten/dairy free, etc.), complete camp's Special Diet form to let the kitchen know. Designate the group as "Academic Training Timeline 2025."
HOUSING

- Housing will be in camper dorms utilizing bottom bunk beds.
- We will make every effort to accommodate needs and preferences based on registration, though no guarantee can be provided. Your understanding is greatly appreciated!
- If you have an extenuating circumstance regarding housing needs, please contact the Learning and Leadership department before December 1.
